We will be reading a chapter from Brenna Bhandahar's Colonial Lives of Property, a book that moves between history and contemporary perspectives in its examination of the entanglements between property law and the racialize logics of settler colonialism. The chapter we will discuss focuses specifically on the Torrens system of registration and its uses in various imperial contexts.
