Ius Commune (1967-2001)

Founded in 1967 by the then director of the MPIeR, Helmut Coing, as an annual Institute journal, Ius Commune. Veröffentlichungen des Max-Planck-Instituts für Europäische Rechtsgeschichte developed into an internationally renowned journal of legal history over the nearly 30 years of its existence. In addition to research articles, shorter contributions (Berichte and Mitteilungen, later Berichte and Kritik) and, from volume 14 onwards, notices and reviews were published. Until 2001, 28 volumes were published by Klostermann Verlag.

All issues of the journal are available online in PDF format (except for the review sections) via the MPIeR Digital Library. The copyright for subsequent use (reproduction or distribution) of the digitised material lies with the MPIeR and Klostermann Verlag. Verlag. Verlag.
