Summer School for European Legal History

With the younger generation in mind (Ph.D. students, post-docs) ever since 1997 the Institute hosted a week-long "Summer School for European Legal History" which attracted young legal historians from many European countries. Each Summer School was led by an internationally renowned academic scholar. The underlying concept was to enable young academics to get to know one another while still in the process of earning their qualifications, with the Institute functioning as a central venue for communication.

The Summer School is now being continued in form of the Summer Academy.
