Seminar

  • Start: Jul 13, 2015
  • End: Jul 14, 2015
  • Location: Max Planck Institute for European Legal History

Foundation:

At the Max-Planck Institute for European Legal History (MPIeR, Frankfurt am Main) we consider to be of interest the elaboration of a history of the legal-criminal system in Latin America. Therefore, as a first step, we have organized a seminar called History of the Legal-Criminal System in Latin America. Historical and Conceptual Approach.

The aim of this meeting is to discuss the current situation of legal and social historiography (this time, the one produced in the Argentine Republic) in major institutions for formal social control (penitentiary system, police institution, juvenile criminality), as well as to analyze the teaching methods for history of the criminal law in Argentine universities and to set a work schedule and further possible future research.

A broader foundation and participants at the seminar may be consulted in the Spanish programme (downloadable pdf shown in the right-hand column).
