Donal Coffey is investigating the change in the legal structure of the Commonwealth of Nations between the first and second World Wars. The project is based on a comparative, multi-focal analysis, using primary archival materials from the United Kingdom and each of the Dominions. It examines how the idea of a unitary Commonwealth legal system was undermined through legal developments in the inter-War period. Donal Coffey completed his PhD at University College Dublin and previously lectured at the Universities of Portsmouth and Surrey.
