We would like to congratulate Vittorio E. Klostermann and its entire team for this well-deserved distinction!

We are especially pleased about the news because the Institute has enjoyed a long working history with Klostermann – a steadfast and productive relationship that extends from the early days of the MPIeR all the way up to the present. It is, of course, a great honour for us that the legal-historical profile contributed to the publishing house’s ‘outstanding humanities programme’, which was praised by the jury.

In addition to the Institute’s journal, ‘Rechtsgeschichte - Legal History’, Klostermann has been publishing a series of monographs and edited volumes overseen by the Institute’s editorial department since 1971, which was renamed ‘Studien zur europäischen Rechtsgeschichte’ in 2002. Since next year marks the 50th anniversary of this series, we will celebrate this milestone together with Klostermann and toast to the next 50 years!
