Max-Planck Summer School
With the younger generation in mind (Ph.D. students, post-docs) ever since 1997 in July of each year the Institute hosts a week-long "European legal history summer school" which attracts young legal historians from many European countries. Each summer school is led by an internationally renowned academic scholar. The underlying concept is to enable young scientists to get to know one another while still in the process of earning their qualifications, with the Institute functioning as a central venue for communication.
This year the Summer School will take place from July 29th – August, 2nd and will be lead by Prof. Paolo Napoli (EHESS, Paris) and PD Dr. Christiane Birr (MPIeR). The deadline for recommending suitable candidates is May 20th, 2012.
