Call Max Planck Summer Academy for Legal History 2018
Deadline 31.01.2018

December 20, 2017

The Max Planck Summer Academy for Legal History is organized annually with the aim of providing committed Ph.D. students both from Germany and abroad with an introduction to the sources, methods and the theoretical groundwork of legal history.  The presentations and workshops held by members of the MPIeR research staff as well as guest researchers are meant to offer insights into the methodological concepts, research perspectives and scientific practices of the various areas of legal history. Moreover, the roughly 20 invited participants have not only the opportunity to present their own projects within the context of the overarching research topic, but also further develop their research over the course of the 14 day event.

This year’s theme World and Village: The global and the local in legal history.

Ph.D. Students in Legal Studies and historically focused Social Sciences and Humanities are encouraged to apply by January 31, 2018 with a present research project that focusses on the connection between local and global legal discourses
